Sylvia Harmon

November 22, 1936 — February 15, 2022

Sylvia Kimball Harmon, age 85, passed away surrounded by loved ones on February 15, 2022, in Clearfield, Utah.

Sylvia was born on November 22, 1936, in Santa Ana, California to her loving parents, Crozier Rodney and LeNeve Martin Kimball. She was the eldest of 14 children. Her childhood and early married years were spent in Provo, Utah. She married her high school sweetheart in the Salt Lake City Temple on February 21, 1956. Her and her husband Alan had 10 children, all of which were born in Provo Utah. Other places she resided were Green River and the Unita Mountains near Robertson in Wyoming and Saint George, Utah.

Sylvia’s greatest joy in life was being a mother and in later years, being surrounded by her posterity. In her limited spare time, she loved to cross stitch, sew, read and watch old movies. As a romantic, she loved musicals, love songs, dancing and singing. Most of all she loved and cherished her relationship with her husband. She would often say to him, “You know you are the best thing that ever happened to me!”

As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Sylvia dedicated her life to serving the Lord in various church callings as well as supporting her husband in his church service. Later in life, they served two missions together. One in Bintulu Malasia/ Singapore and the other in Los Angeles, California. They truly loved the people they served and the opportunity to share their testimony of Christ and our Heavenly Fathers Plan.

Sylvia leaves a legacy of faith, love and service.

She is survived by her husband, Walter Alan Harmon; her ten children David (Teri) Harmon, Alma (Laurie) Harmon, Kimball (Joanna) Harmon, Alana (Mike) Rykhus, Jared (Fete) Harmon, Lisa (Gary) Ecton, AnnaLee (Wayne) Gosar, Lance (Cerisa) Harmon, Sylvia (Jean) Claude, Angela (Kristipher) Tolman; 56 grandchildren; over 100 great- grandchildren; siblings Rodney Kimball, Larry (Mary Lou) Kimball, Lee (Karen) Kimball, Randy (Carol) Kimball, Sharon (Allen) Hampton, Ruby (Joel) Zabriskie, Joylene (Don) English, Stanley (Lucile) Kimball, Clea (Clifford) Mefford, Bruce (Sheryl) Kimball, LeNeve (Terry) Hatch.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers David Kimball and Rex Kimball; sisters-in-law Carol and Joyce Kimball; grandsons Jason Harmon, Austin Rykhus, and Daniel Gosar as well as granddaughters Amy Harmon and Hannah Smith.

We would like to thank all those who cared for, loved and supported Sylvia through the years.
