Sylvia Elizabeth Stofferahn

OGDEN – Sylvia Elizabeth Stofferahn , 73, passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2009. She was born in Pittsfield, Massachusetts on September 24, 1935 to Leonard Roger Whitney, Sr. and Francis Elizabeth Rider. Sylvia married Robert Stofferahn in 1958, they later divorced. She worked at McKay Dee Hospital in Central Supply. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed church activities and attending the Temple. She served in many capacities over the years. Sylvia loved shopping, knitting, baking, traveling, and spending time with her family. She had many friends whom she loved to spend time with and they loved her dearly. She is survived by her children, Sheree (Edward) Parker, Fruit Heights; James (Teresa) Stofferahn, Ogden; John (Pam) Stofferahn, Ogden; Jared (Lisa) Stofferahn, Ogden; Jeff Stofferahn, Ogden. Also surviving her are six brothers, Leonard, Frederic, Howard, Larry, Hal, John, and two sisters, Judy and Lori, along with 19 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 8, 2009 at 2:00 pm at the LDS 9th and 10th Bldg., 125 East 5350 South, Washington Terrace. Friends and family may call Monday at 12 noon until 1:30 pm and the church. Services under the direction of Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary. Interment at Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd. A special thank you to the staff of Apple Village Assistant Living for the kind and compassionate care.
