Tauapuaa (Piki) Pita, 71, of Woods Cross, Utah passed away peacefully at his home with his loving family by his side on February 7, 2021. Piki was born in American Samoa on January 1,1950 to Tauapuaa and Fiatau Pita. He had 3 brothers Pakipa (Susie) Pita, Vii (Carma) Pita, and Sui (Ofelia) Pita, and 3 sisters Fia (Sau) Aumavae, Sialataua (Fuga)Tolani Teleso, and Faaviivii Pita.
He leaves behind the love of his life, his wife Renee (Zazweta) Pita of 41 years; Six children; sons, Todd (Salani) Pita, Tony Pita, and Jason Zazweta, and 3 daughters Elicia (Reggie) Zazweta, Tawnya (Tua) Toiaivao, Amber (Freddy) Pacheco; 15 grandchildren, Marcus, Toa, Elizabeth, Christian, Aisake, Sa’olotoga, Lachoneus, Cassius, Adrian, Mosaea, Joseph, Ignausio, Addiana, Kamila, and Tony Jr.
The most important part of his life was his family. Piki worked with Cottonwood Builders for over 35 years to provide for his family.
He lived life to the fullest, always trying something new. He acquired many hobbies through his life such as deep-sea fishing, surfing, windsurfing, fishing, hunting and camping.
As a young man Piki joined the Army and served his country with honor during the Vietnam War.
Piki is proceeded in death by his father and mother, and brothers Sui, Pakipa, and Faaviivii Pita.
Graveside Services will be held 11 a.m. on Friday, February 12, 2021 at Utah Veterans Memorial Park, 17111 S. Camp Williams Rd. Bluffdale UT. 84065. On Thursday, there will be a private viewing for family only at Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary. Masks and social distancing will be required.
