Ted Deelstra passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 25, 2021, at the age of 61 at home in West Haven, Utah, surrounded by family. Ted was born May 10, 1959 to Gerald “Jerry” Deelstra and Elaine Sprouse.
Ted is survived by his wife, Eileen, and children Brody (Crystal), Landon (Kaylee), Jenna Favero (Justin), Ani, and McKade, siblings JoAnn Raya (Raul), Sam (Laurie), and Nick as well as grandchildren Eli and Delilah.
Ted was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in various callings.
Ted worked for the Utah State Office of Rehabilitation as a vocational rehabilitation counselor where he enjoyed making a difference in the lives of his clients and will be greatly missed by all who worked with him.
Ted loved sports and often spent his evenings and weekends officiating baseball, softball, football, and basketball games throughout Northern Utah. Ted had a gift for making things grow and was known for his beautiful gardens and vibrant tropical fish. He enjoyed listening to classic rock music and passed that love on to his children.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, May 8, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road, Layton. Friends may visit family Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.
