On March 1st, 2025, our beloved and amazing Ted Uwe Martens passed away at his home in Salt Lake City, Utah.

 Born in Hamburg, Germany and shaped by the events of World War II, Ted joined the U.S. Air Force. He emigrated, first spending time in cities like Boston and New York. Then, stationed at Utah’s Hill Air Force Base where he met Barbara Jean Meske, the love of his life. The two were married 63 years, raising daughters Tiffany, Jamie and Pamela in Kaysville, Utah.

 Serving more than 35 years with the Federal Aviation Administration, Ted had a love of aircraft, cars, classical music and always poured his heart into his yard. He is survived by brothers Ernst and Peter, sister Brigitte, daughters Jamie and Pamela, grandchildren Hannah, Gaby, Sydney and Simon, great-grandchildren Aliyana, Malia, Lukas, Cai’Lani and Alaiah.

 He is loved and will be missed. May his memory live on through his family.

 Funeral services will be held Friday March 7, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Rd., Layton, Utah. Family and friends may visit Friday from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary prior to the service.

 Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
