“Ted” Theodore L. Dominguez, 77, of Ogden, Utah, passed away unexpectedly on June 24, 2024.
Ted was born on October 29, 1946, to Manuel Dominguez Jr. and Mary Dora (Montoya) Dominguez in Del Norte, Colorado. Ted attended Del Norte High School.
He entered the Army and received an honorable discharge. He started his career working for The Defense Depot of Ogden as an Inventory Specialist. From there he took pride in driving his Mack truck around the country. Later in his career he worked as a Security Officer with the Clearfield Job Corps, ran his own landscaping business, along with snow removal opportunities.
He loved spending time with friends and family. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and reveled in the dances and any opportunity he could to sing Happy Birthday to you in Spanish. Ted enjoyed gardening and being outdoors. Ted was very active in his church and loved attending Sunday Mass. Ted was not a man to be caught sitting but when he did it was to watch the Denver Broncos or the Utah Jazz play. Ted loved beautiful things including flowers in season, dressing to the nines, and the ladies. Ted loved a cold can of Pepsi on a hot day or a whiskey and Coke.
Ted is survived by his children, Nancy (Phil) Esquibel, Las Vegas, NM, Lisa (Manuel) Ortiz, Santa Fe, NM, Loyola (Izan) Padilla, South Ogden, UT, Dora Dominguez, Ogden, UT; his brother, Jake (Marie) Dominguez, Farr West, UT; his grandchildren, Eric Esquibel, LasVegas, NM, Ashley (Isaac) Montoya, Las Vegas, NM, Raymond (Crystal) Martinez-Ortiz, Santa Fe, NM, Codylee (Jazmyn) Ortiz, Santa Fe, NM, Tenaya (Samuel) Hernandez, West Haven, UT, Alize Padilla, South Ogden, UT, Tyera Padilla, South Ogden, UT, and Izan Manuel Padilla, South Ogden, UT; his great-grandchildren, Hunter Esquibel, Aspen Esquibel, Mariah Maldonado, Josiah Tapia-Montoya, Noel Maldonado, Azayah Abreu, Devett Rae Ortiz, Manuel Ortiz, Hailee Ortiz, Codylee Ortiz Jr., Bentley Ortiz, Leeonidas Ortiz, Colton Ortiz, Xavier Ortiz, and Julian Arturo Hernandez; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, etc.
Ted was preceded in death by his parents Manuel Dominguez Jr., Mary Dora (Montoya) Dominguez and his siblings Dave Dominguez, Josephine Martinez, Helen Perrin and Johnny Dominguez.
His daughters and family want to express all the kindness and support during this tough time. It has been truly appreciated and does not go unnoticed.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 514 24th Street, Ogden, Utah. A Vigil will be held on Tuesday where friends may visit with family from 6 to 8 p.m. with Rosary at 7 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Rd.
