Terrence Durham

Terrence Durham passed away peacefully on April 15, 2025, in Layton, Utah. He was born on May 20, 1947, in Malad, Idaho, to Alfred Richards Durham and Eunice Marion Hassell, both of whom predeceased him.

Terry’s academic journey culminated in earning a Bachelor’s Degree, which laid the foundation for his continued pursuit of knowledge throughout his life. Most family and friends knew him as Terry, not Terrence. He had a profound love for history and spent countless hours reading and enjoying old movies, often accompanied by the sounds of music that enriched his spirit. His passion for sports and his keen interest in current events, especially through the lens of Fox News, were defining features of his personality.

He was devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and an example of Christ- like love to all. He served a full-time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in California. He retired from working for the LDS church for almost 38 years.

Throughout his life, Terry lived in several cities across Utah, which included Farmington, Provo, Taylorsville, Kaysville, Layton, and Clearfield, each place becoming a part of his life's tapestry. He was married to LaRene Rice (Paul) Bonnett for 34 years.

He is remembered fondly by his siblings: Jan (Jean) Durham, Paul (Bev) Durham, and Charlotte (Wayne) Portanova, children, Tracie Dalton, Keri (Ben) Christiansen, Matthew (Carrie) Durham, Additionally, he leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Parker, Jessica, Samantha, and Preston.

Terry is now reunited with his parents, Richard and Marion Durham, as well as his brothers, Rich, Marc and London Durham, who all passed before him.

A Graveside service honoring Terrence's life will be held on May 2, 2025, at Lindquist's Memorial Park at Layton, located at 1867 N Fairfield Rd, Layton, Utah. The service will begin at 10:00 AM, with attendees invited to join in remembrance of his impact on many lives and the joy he brought to those around him.

Terrence Durham will be dearly missed, but his legacy of love, dedication to family, and commitment to faith will continue to inspire all who knew him.
