Our loving mother, Nana, sister, aunt, and friend returned home to her Heavenly Father on Saturday, January 16, 2016. She passed away quietly in her sleep due to complications from cancer.
Terrie was born on November 8, 1946 in Fruita, Colorado, to Roy and Mildred Grossman. She spent her childhood days playing fun, carefree games and enjoying life with a happy attitude full of vim and vigor. Terrie attended schools in the Grand Junction area through elementary, junior high, and high school. She attended Mesa Junior College, graduating with an Associate degree, and Brigham Young University, graduating with a Bachelor's degree in elementary education. She taught kindergarten and fifth grade for many years, touching the lives of her students with her kindness and caring.
Terrie was fun-loving, kind, and nurturing. She enjoyed crocheting, crafts, and sewing. She was always ready for a good party and a good joke--even on herself! She loved to travel and took many fun trips and cruises with her family.
Terrie loved river rafting. At one time she was known as the "Legend of the Snake River" because of her daring feats on the rapids. She loved the water, ocean, and sand so much that she spent a summer taking classes in Hawaii.
Terrie's greatest love was her family. Her joy was full the day she was able to adopt a beautiful baby girl and then, a few years later, a handsome baby boy. She loved being a mother and a grandmother. She loved to snuggle and rock her babies. Her life was spent loving and serving her family, especially her daughter. She worked hard to provide for her and loved her dearly.
Terrie is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Laura and Mason; four grandchildren, Tatum, Lance, Hunter, and Breonna; two sisters and one brother: Patti Bigelow, Vickie (Tony) Beard, and Daryl (Cheri) Grossman; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Lance; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins who greeted her as she came home.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 23, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends may visit family Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.
Interment, Syracuse City Cemetery.
We love you Terrie and will miss you! Forever in our hearts.
