Terry Tetsuo Kuroiwa, 70, passed away peacefully in his sleep on September 8, 2011 from complications of emphysema.

Terry graduated from Davis High School in Kaysville, Utah in 1959. He served in the Air Force until 1966. While he was in the service, he married his high school sweetheart on March 28, 1962. He made a career in computer technology until he retired in December 2001.

Terry was a quiet, serious man who loved to travel and drive fast cars. Terry is survived by his wife, Beth Sachiko Miya, and his three daughters: Lesli (Jay) Hirokawa, Stephanie (Bud) Lord, and Diane Kuroiwa. Also survived by his mother Kazue Kaye Kuroiwa and his siblings: Alice (Allen) Nishijima, Mickey (Carolyn) Kuroiwa and May Kuroiwa and his in-laws, Robert Miya, Marie Hirabayashi and Gary and Diane Miya. He also has five grandchildren: Craig, Jonathan, Thomas, Kimberly and Nicole. He was preceded in death by his father Tokio Kuroiwa, his infant sons, Todd and Rodney, his parents-in-law Manji and Shizu Miya and in-laws Paul and Kiyo Okawa and George Hirabayashi. A family service will be held on Monday, September 12, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd, with Rev. Jerry Hirano officiating. Friends may visit with family on Monday from 9:45 to 11 a.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd., where military honors will be accorded.
