Terry Ray Owen

Terry Ray Owen 1958-2013 After a long and difficult struggle with illness, Terry Ray Owen passed away peacefully on August 27, 2013 at his home in Bountiful Utah at age 55. Terry was born in 1958 in Provo, Utah to Lloyd and Peggy Owen. At the age of eight months, his family moved to Alaska. Terry developed a love for the outdoors and a passion for skiing. He grew into an exceptional young man. Terry also leaves us with an enduring legacy of his love and faith in Jesus Christ. He served a mission in Cleveland Ohio for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He attended BYU and the University of Utah, pursuing his interests and talent in architecture and fine arts. While attending the University he became the poster boy for Sundance Ski Resort appearing in many of their brochures and, with his brother, instructed at the Ski School for several years. Terry received a kidney transplant from his loving father in the late 90’s and was a great supporter of “Donor for Life.” This gesture of familial love bought us many more years of happiness at his side. Many that have encountered Terry, or had the good fortune of belonging to his family describe him as the ultimate optimist, and consummate survivor. He was particularly grateful and appreciated the doctors and the nurses who cared for him during the last few years. Terry never married but was loved by many girls. Terry was a great son, brother, friend and the best uncle and great uncle ever. Terry is survived by his parents, Lloyd and Peggy Owen, his siblings, Rick, Kevin, Chaille, Stacy and Melanie and their respective spouses, Virginia, June, Randy, Sebastien and Paul, numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, August 31, 2013 at Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E. where friends may visit family from 12:30-1:30 pm prior to services. Interment Lakeview Memorial Park, Bountiful, Utah.
