Tessa Taylor

April 10, 1947 ~ May 20, 2015

Tessa Taylor was born on April 10, 1947 in Superior, Wisconsin.  She was the only daughter born to Jerome Paul and Alma Minnie Hill Campbell.  She went home to her beloved mom and dad and brother Jerry on May 20, 2015.  Tessa was a very happy child and lived a wonderful childhood in the Midwest.  Her memories were of big open spaces, playing with her brothers, being loved and eating her mom’s delicious cooking.  She attended BYU and enjoyed learning about the medical field, where so many of her talents laid in helping others through her skills.  There at BYU she met and fell in love with Richard Lyman Taylor.  Although that relationship ended, through their marriage she received her greatest blessings…her children.  Amy Taylor Despain (Jay), Josh Taylor (Laurie Gibbons), Holly Taylor Suisse (Brian) and Jacob Taylor.  To say she loved her children would be a huge understatement.  They were her life as well as were her grandchildren.  In her own words she left the world a better place than when she entered because she left T.C., David, Colton, Emily, Natalya, Matthew, Victoria, Gabriella, Genevieve, Andrew, Aaron, Lilliana, Amy, Josh, Jacob and Holly.  “Blessed be the Lord for all I have been gifted with.”

Tessa overcame huge obstacles in her life.  The largest possibly being a stroke in December of 2012.  It left her speech seriously affected, but she learned to find humor in a truly frustrating situation.  She loved when her children and grandchildren would play “charades” to find out what she was trying to express.  Having been so articulate her entire adult life she handled that challenge beautifully.  The 2 years following her stroke were an incredible tender mercy from her Heavenly Father.  She used that time to love everyone she met without limits or conditions.  For the first time she allowed herself to feel the love the Lord had for her and felt it without bounds as she attended the Ogden temple just outside her door.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the Ben Lomond Cemetery.

As her family we wish to thank everyone who loved her (that includes you Dorothy) and that took a little to listen, to love and to learn from this lovely lady.  God bless you Tessa. We love you mom.

A poem written to her by her mother, Alma Campbell:

We dreamed and planned, the Wind and I;
When I was but a child.
We sang beneath the summer sky
And roamed through woodlands wild.
We built our airy castles high
And hoped great hopes, the Wind and I.
Now other children young at play
Are gambling with the breeze.
They dream my dreams of yesterday
Now drowned in Life’s hard seas.
Oh, may they never throw away
The dreams they dream; the Wind and they
