ROY- Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Tex LeGrand Robinson, 81, passed away at home on Friday, August 24, 2012. He was born in Joseph, Utah April 26, 1931 to George Washington and Mabel Collmaun Robinson.
Tex resided in Roy for 54 years where he raised his family. He was a High Priest in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served in many presidencies.
He was a conductor for the Union Pacific Railroad and was a member of the Golden Spike Gem & Mineral Society. He taught silver smithing for seven years at the Golden Hours Center. Dad loved rock hunting and was an avid jewelry maker; his children and grandchildren reaped the rewards of his talents. Tex was a life-long shooting sports enthusiast and was proud to be able to pass that along to his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Tex loved to travel and traveled extensively with his wife. He never met a man he didn''t like, or a child he didn''t love. He was a collector of many of life''s treasures.
Dad''s greatest accomplishment in life was his family. He is survived by his wife Shirley Robinson, six children; Linda (Scott) Berry, West Haven; Garth (Sheila) Robinson, Hooper; Allan (Debbie) Robinson, West Weber; Kirk (LesLee) Robinson, Roy; Judy (Kevin) Kent, Taylor; Sheri (Marty) Tanner, Sunset; 26 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren, and his special friend Pebbles.
Tex was preceded in death by his parents, 11 brothers and sisters, two grandsons, and one great-grandson.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the Roy 16th Ward Chapel, 4524 South 2525 West in Roy, with Bishop David Martin officiating. The family will meet with friends on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South, and Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
Interment, Hooper City Cemetery.
