Ogden-Our Beloved father, Thad L. Napper, passed away October 28, 2011 at his home in Ogden, Utah.

Dad was born December 24, 1923 in Logan, son of George C. and Tesla Thorpe Napper.

He married Kathryn Obray on April 20, 1945 in Walla Walla,Washington. Leaving Washington, they made their home in Ogden, Utah. They both enjoyed a happy and productive life together raising three children. Dad was a graduate of the L.D.S Seminary and was an Elder in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Dad joined the United States Army Air Force at the beginning of World War II where he earned the rank of Staff Sergeant. He subsequently transferred to Counter Intelligence Division achieving the rank of Captain. Dad retired from the internal Revenue District Office after 28 years. He went on to become an active advocate for the Federal Retirees.

Dad attended Logan City Schools and was an honorary graduate of Utah State College and a member of Phi Kappa Pi Honorary Graduate Society. He had a keen analytical mind and was proficient in most any goal he desired. He developed a lifetime love of learning.

Dad enjoyed the wonders and beauty of the outdoors, especially fishing. Many summer days were spent working at the Bear Lake family cabin. Dad enjoyed playing his organ and listening to semi-classic and nostalgic music. Dad was also a long time member of the Elks Club and the American Legion.

Dad will be greatly missed by those who knew him best. Dad is survived by his three children, Gary Napper, Julie (David) Lehman and Teresa (Ron) Price, eight grandchildren and eleven great-grand children.

Dad was preceded in death by his lovely wife, Kathryn, his parents George and Tesla Napper, daughter-in-law Chris Alexander Napper, his brother, Delbert Napper, and sister-in-law Norma Napper.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday November 5, 2011 at 11:00 a. m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary 3408 Washington Blvd. Family will meet with friends on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Saturday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Logan City Cemetery, 12th E. and 9th N.

The family wishes to give special thanks to the Thatcher Brook Medical staff, Joe and Flo Murray and Dixie Adams for the loving attention they gave to Dad in his last days.
