Thea Anna Warner
October 12, 1928 - September 30, 2009
Thea A. Warner passed away peacefully in her home in West Covina, California where she lived the last 4 years of her life with her daughter, Sonja. She was born in Germany on October 12, 1928 to Johann and Sofie Pott. In 1947, she married William W. Warner who was an American soldier stationed in Germany.
In 1950 Thea and her infant daughter came to America on the U.S. Army Transport Ship to live with her husband in Alexandria, Virginia. They moved often since Bill was in the military. The other places she lived in included Missouri, Indiana, Arizona and Utah. Eventually they came back to Virginia and lived in Newport News. They lived in Virginia from 1956 until 1986 and then moved to Utah to be close to their daughter and her family. She lived in Layton, Utah until October of 2005. She then went to live with her daughter, Sonja, in California where she remained until her death.
She was preceded in death in 1997 by her husband of 50 years, William W. Warner and all of her brothers and sisters. She is survived by a daughter, Sonja Munoz of West Covina, California and a son, Bill Warner of Ogden, Utah, 4 grandchildren, Miguel of Los Angeles, Ca, Daniel Munoz of Los Angeles, Ca, Sonja Godbey of Chino, CA, and William Warner of Clearfield, Utah, and 6 great grandchildren, Breanna Munoz of Corona, Ca, Christian and Julia Godbey of Chino, Ca, and Cristain, Edgar and Gesselle Munoz of Los Angeles, CA.
Thea was a proud breast cancer survivor of over 15 years. She enjoyed crocheting and watching television especially Oprah, Dr. Phil, Dancing with the Stars and the News. We will miss her greatly but we know she is in a better place with the love of her life, William Warner.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, October 24, 2009 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
