Thelda Eliza Creager Pomeroy

April 19, 1928 ~ March 18, 2016

Thelda Eliza Creager Pomeroy passed away peacefully on March 18, 2016 at home with her family.

She was born at home in Morgan, Utah to Ira Ottobine and Viney May Carter Creager.  Her father passed away four months before she was born.

She attended Morgan High School and graduated in 1946.  She then met and married Alfred Walter Pomeroy on February 28, 1947.  They raised four children.  Alf preceded her in death in 1999.

Mom was very creative and loved to sew, knit, crochet, and quilt.  Her creations are treasured by her family.

She was an amazing cook and enjoyed making dinners for her family.  She made the wedding cakes for all of her children’s weddings.

Thelda loved to travel and did so with her sister, Lela extensively after her retirement from IRS.  They went all over the world together.

Thelda is survived by three of her children, Karon Powers, Janet (Dave) Lamplugh, and Scott Pomeroy; six grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son, Alfred C. “Butch” Pomeroy and her son-in-law, James F. Powers.  She was also preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Bernice Bates, Lela Stout, Vera Baer, Elmo Creager, and Wendell Creager.

Mom, you will be missed by your family.  We will try to make you proud.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, March 25, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.  Friends may visit with family on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. .
