“Grandma Theo” “Gammy” SYRACUSE - The world lost an amazing woman, Theo Ewing passed away on July 19, 2013. She touched everyone’s lives and helped raise 1000’s of children during her 50+ years of day care and preschool career. She is known to all as Grandma, but those who are closest to her called her Gammy. We love and miss you!!! She was born February 17, 1934 in Weston, ID, daughter of Reed and Lila Campbell. She married “Bamps” Hal Ewing May 17, 1967. They later solemnized their marriage in the Ogden LDS Temple. She was a faithful member of the Church Jesus Christ of Latter- Day Saints and served for many years. Her favorite calling was working with the children in the nursery. Her life’s work was caring for and loving children. She ran a day care for many years and touched the lives of so many children. She always said that each child had something special about them and made each one feel loved. Gammy was known for her beautiful red lips and would leave trails of kisses on everyone. Her life was devoted to her children and grandchildren and she spent every minute she could with them. Gammy’s house was a place our memory will never erase; climbing the cherry tree out back, blowing bubbles in our milk, waffles and fried eggs made special for us. She was the best Grandma of all time. She gave us a lifetime of happiness, your kisses we will truly miss. Some of Gammy’s happiest times were spent at family gatherings. Gammy was there for all of our important moments as well as our day to day activities. She loved and cherished her children, grandchildren and great- grandchildren; they were the highlight of her life. It is impossible to express how much she will be missed. Gammy was one of a kind, she was a celebration of life. She made everyone feel special, every stranger she met, became her friend. Everyone that came into her home was greeted with a hug. She is survived by her children; Chris (Scott) Bybee, Vickie Barber, Nancy (Kirk) Morley, Larry Henderson, Rod (Pam) Henderson, Scott (Sherry) Ewing. Her Twin Sister Rheo, and Sister Leola. Also many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Douglas Brad, sister LaReeda and brother Fred. Funeral services will be held Tuesday July 23, 2013 at 2:00, at Lindquist Layton Mortuary 1867 N. Fairfield Rd., Layton. Friends and family may call Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Syracuse City Cemetery. We would like to thank Dr. Marc Johnson for his years of care. Also Thatcher Brook Home Care and especially her nurse Judy Teerlink and her aide Heather Halbert for their compassionate care and wonderful friendship. Our family would also like to thank our sister Chris, for her tender loving care and devotion to our mom over the past 16 years.
