WASHINGTON TERRACE a€" Theodore Perry Howell, 68, passed away Friday, September 21, 2007 at his home in Washington Terrace.

He was born March 18, 1939 in Walden, Colorado, the son of Theodore D. and Margaret A. Howell.

Theodore married Sigrid P. Ramus on January 18, 1969 in Groton, Connecticut. Sigrid died October 2, 1999.

He enlisted with the U.S. Navy on September 28, 1961 and served 10 years earning a National Defense Service Medal, two Good Conduct Medals, and the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal. After serving a tour in Vietnam, he was honorably discharged on October 27, 1971.

Following his military discharge, Theodore and Sigrid moved their family to Ogden. He then worked at and retired from the V.A. Hospital in 1978. Theodore then went into business for himself as a handyman.

Theodore enjoyed being in his workshop building and creating various projects. He had a passion for woodworking. He was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Post 1481, and the American Legion.

Surviving are nine children, Donald (Rita) Howell, Salem, CT; Rosemary (Art) Alvarado, Rancho Cucamonga, CA; Donna (Scott) McLaughlin, Plain City; Anthony (Cindy) Howell, Sandy; Dale Howell, Hooper; Renee (Brent) Brown, North Ogden; Ronald Howell, Ogden; Theodore (Denise) Howell, Pleasant View; Brigitte (Chad) Smedley, Layton; 26 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Also surviving is one brother, Kenneth (Diane) Howell, Clearfield.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one son Russell, one grandchild Lucas, and his sister Ethel.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, 2374 Grant Avenue, with the Reverend Adam Linton officiating.

Friends may call at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.

Interment, Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd., where Military Honors will be accorded.
