Theodore Johnson II

August 30, 1958 — April 21, 2025

Ogden

Theodore Johnson II, known affectionately as "Butch," passed away on April 21, 2025, at the age of 66 due to complications following a stroke. Born on August 30, 1958, Butch lived a life rich in love, work, and companionship, leaving behind a legacy that will be cherished by all who knew him.

Butch dedicated ten years of his life to serving at Hill Air Force Base, where his commitment and skills in maintenance were deeply valued. He further lent his talents at McKay Dee Hospital, embodying a true spirit of service to his community. His work ethic was mirrored in every aspect of his life, and he took immense pride in being established in his home and consistently helping his family.

An outgoing soul with an inviting personality, Butch was well-known for his remarkable ability to connect with everyone around him. He loved to chat and visit, leaving a lasting impression on friends and acquaintances alike. He cherished his time reveling in the company of family and friends while enjoying the thrill of Dallas Cowboys football, never missing an opportunity to cheer for his team. Butch also delighted in the simpler pleasures of life, such as riding his Harley wherever the road would take him.

Beyond his professional and social life, Butch found joy in nurturing his home. He was often seen keeping up with the landscaping, digging up weeds, and cutting grass, reflecting his love for the great outdoors and his commitment to maintaining a beautiful space for his loved ones to enjoy.

Butch’s greatest pride was in his family, especially his son, Michael, whom he loved dearly. He carried a deep-seated pride in the man Michael was becoming, and their bond was a source of happiness and strength for him. He also leaves behind many cherished siblings: Phyliss (Jacade) Lewis, Greg (Jodi) Johnson, Donald (Roni) Johnson, Shawn (Jill) Johnson, and Susan (Quan) Brown. Butch is reunited in spirit with his parents, Ted and Willie Mae Johnson, and siblings Joseph Byrd, Larry Byrd, and Pamela Frail, whose love and influence shaped him into the remarkable man he became.

While Butch may no longer be with us, his spirit lives on in the hearts of countless extended family members in Georgia and all those he touched with his kindness and generosity. He will be profoundly missed, but his legacy of love, hard work, and camaraderie will remain forever etched in the memories of those he leaves behind.
