Theresa Marie Spencer Capener

Theresa Marie Spencer Capener, resident of Kaysville, Utah passed away at her home on August 9, 2013 at the age of 85 years. She was born on November 2, 1927 in Glenns Ferry, Idaho to Marbie Nicholson Spencer and Amanda Josephine Thomassen. She married her "Navy man", Gene Capener, in Boise, Idaho on September 9th, 1950. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan Temple. Shortly after her husband''s death in 1987, she moved to Utah. She was an active member of the LDS church, serving in various callings. Her two favorite church activities were temple work and being the best visiting teacher ever.

Some favorite pastimes included winning at bingo, reading, watching Utah Jazz games with the St. Mark''s Gardens gals, cleaning her house (except perhaps for dusting) and cleaning dinner plates before dinner is done. Above all she enjoyed spoiling her friends and family with her love and attention.

She is survived by her daughter Karla (Sheldon) Thornock, Kaysville, UT; her four grandchildren, Jennifer (Wes) Garland, Nashville, TN; Wade (Jessica) Thornock, Woods Cross, UT; Brett (Kendra) Thornock, Terrell, TX; and Kiersten (Penn) Allred, Little Elm, TX; 6 1/2 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her daughter, Julie, her parents, and all of her 12 brothers and sisters.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, August 15, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Farmington City Cemetery, 600 South 200 East. Family may visit friends from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Lindquist''s Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main.
