Thomas Arnold Favero

Thomas Arnold Favero passed on to his next phase of life on July 21, 2023, at his home surrounded by his loving wife and family.

Tom was born on August 15, 1937, in Taylor Utah, to Giovanni Favero Sr. and Hazel Cleo Daley Favero. He was the thirteenth child of fourteen children.

Tom graduated from Weber High School in 1956. He was part of the wrestling team.

He married Nancy Jean Montgomery on February 27, 1958, in the Salt Lake City temple. Tom and Nancy lived, worked, and raised their family on the original Favero family farm.  He was always his own boss milking cows and farming. One of Tom’s passions was working with horses. He shod many horses, broke many colts, rodeoed the PRCA for 10 years and drove cutter horses with the Wasatch Slopes Chariot Association for 20-25 years. He worked training colts while working the cattle through the Weber Livestock Auction alley. Along with his brother Bud (Lorenzo) he was a Utah State Brand Inspector.

His favorite time of year was fall harvest and hunting season. Corn chopping, hunting, and camping was always a family affair.

His lifelong wish was to stay on the farm working the ground and living his life free to choose and do as he pleased. With the help of his loving wife and family he was able to peacefully pass away in the family home he was born in.

Tom is survived by his wife, Nancy Jean Montgomery Favero; children Robyn (Ronnie) Gamble, Kim (Andrew Sr.) Bunot, Midge (Rodney) Ward, Troy (Tracy) Favero, Jamie (Duane) Kearsley; 22 grandchildren, and 36 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his son, Thomas Kirk Favero; his parents; 12 siblings and his grandson, Andrew Bunot Jr. 

We would like to thank Dr. Mark Firth, Applegate Hospice staff and dads aid Dayzee for the wonderful care they gave Dad and our family.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 27, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 W. 5600 S. Friends may visit with family on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, West Weber Cemetery.
