Thomas L. Clark
SOUTH OGDEN – Thomas LaMar Clark, loving father and friend, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, January 28, 2009 following a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born July 19, 1929 in Mitchell, South Dakota, a son of Bryan D. and Helen I. Clark.
Dad married Janette Durrant on April 11, 1952 in Morgan, Utah. She preceded him death on December 5, 1989. After 19 years of being apart, they are reunited for eternity.
Dad was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was actively involved for many years in the Scouting Program, and enjoyed doing genealogy for family and helping others with theirs.
He retired from the Union Pacific Railroad in 1992 after working for them for 42 years. He began his career in Evanston, Wyoming where he worked as a telegrapher and later transferred to Ogden in 1967 where he worked into engine service.
Dad enjoyed hunting with his brothers-in-law, his kids, and spending quality time with those he loved. He loved life, people, and he touched many lives in ways he will never know. Dad would not want us to be sad for him this day as he is happy to be reunited once again with the loved ones that passed before him. He was a great man, and a wonderful neighbor and friend that many will remember for the rest of their lives. Dad will be missed everyday, yet we know he is happy. . .and finally “HOME”.
Dad is survived by one son, David T. Clark, Falls Church, VA; daughters, Jill A. Carter, Evanston, WY; and Jeri L. (Jay) Adams, Hooper. He was blessed with 10 grandchildren that loved their G-Pa, and 11 great-grandchildren.
Dad was preceded in death by his wife, Janette, one son, Douglas Clark, one grandson, Brett T. Clark, and one sister, Carolyn Koepp.
We would like to give our thanks and utmost gratitude to Hospice Advocate for the help and comfort they have been to our family at this time. What great people you are and what tender care you gave. It was a great pleasure having you in our Dad’s home.
