Tom Connors

Thomas Connors, 72, passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2012, at his home in North Ogden, Utah. Tom was born on July 24, 1939, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in 1994 from Weber State University. Tom spent a life in service to his country and others. He served 30 years in the United States military, 5 years in the Marine Corps and 25 years in the Air Force, and retired in 1989 as a Chief Master Sergeant. After his retirement from the military, Tom taught at Canyon View High School in Ogden, Utah. He volunteered with America First Credit Union for over three decades, including serving as Chairman of the Board of Directors.

Tom loved to travel and visited over 70 countries. He also enjoyed reading, history, opera, classical music, camping and hiking.

Tom is survived by his wife of 48 years, Isabelle; three children, Bill, Andy and Kristin; and three grandchildren, Melissa, Caroline and Christopher.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, June 23, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Washington Heights Church, 1770 East 6200 South, Ogden with a reception afterwards. Friends may visit with family on Friday, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 North Washington Blvd. and Saturday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Interment, Arlington National Cemetery in Washington, D.C.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Federation of Community Development Credit Unions.
