Thomas Upton Dickamore

Thomas Upton Dickamore passed away on February 20, 2015 surrounded by his family. He was born on January 11, 1931 in Ogden, Utah to Paul and Nellie Upton Dickamore.

Thomas was in a hurry to get here; he was born in a snowbank at the Dee Hospital. He grew up in Harrisville on the family farm.

Thomas married Sharlene Jones on December 7, 1949. Thomas married Sharlene Jones on December 7, 1949. Their marriage was later solemnized on March 17, 1966 in the Logan LDS Temple. To this union was born ten children, four boys and six girls. He was a member of the North Ogden 3 rd Ward, where he was a Scout Leader and Home Teacher. He worked various jobs to take care of his family. He was a bus driver for Weber County, worked for Hill Field Arsenal Ogden Depot, Harrisville Brickyard, Amcor, helped out on the farm and for his nephew at Basic Convenience Foods.

Thomas loved to go camping and fishing at Marsh Lake with the kids and grandchildren, garden and go for a jaunt in his jazzy chair to visit his brother and the neighborhood without telling mom he was leaving.

Thomas is survived by his wife, Sharlene; his children, Barbara Jean (Dale) Briggs, Thomas (Julie) Richard, Robert (JoLynn) Lynn, Kyle Anne (Bart) Boster, Paul (Laura Lee) Arthur, Merry Christine (Mike) Arnold, Iris Elaine (Ken) Schmier, Neil Upton, and Sandra Lee (Kevin) Mikkelsen; his sisters and brother, Ruth (William decd) LaFluer, Betty (Wayne) Bradshaw, Helen (Morgan decd) Wilson and Leonard Dickamore; 34 grandchildren; and 63 great-grandchildren.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Albert; brothers-in-law, William “Bus” LaFluer and Morgan Wilson; daughter, Catherine Nell; granddaughter, Mandy; and great-grandson, Triston.

The family would like to thank all those who helped take care of dad, Dr. Harry Senekjian and other doctors at Nephrology of Northern Utah, Pleasantview Dialysis Center, and nurses of Intermountain Home Healthcare and Hospice.

Graveside Services will be held on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Ben Lomond Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Lindquist’s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 N. Washington Blvd.
