Thomas Blake Ferrin

October 15, 1988 — April 19, 2022

Clearfield

Astronaut Tom (Thomas Blake Ferrin) died on April 19, 2022, at the age of 33. After surviving insurmountable odds and demonstrating superhuman strength, Tom left us, on his own terms.

Tom was born to Malina and Blake on October 15, 1988 in Layton, Utah. Tom grew up in Davis County, Utah. He attended Clearfield High School, and went on to attend Weber State University, pursuing a degree in Computer Science.

In 2000, Tom met JaBrael and together they had two beautiful children, Brinlee Rose (Wittle Bug) and Parker Thomas (Mr. Meatball). Tom’s children were his greatest joy, and he was always so proud of everything they did. He kept pictures of them with him at all times.

Next to his kids, Tom’s biggest passion in life was music. He was an avid bass, guitar, and keyboard player. He spent countless hours writing, recording, and mixing his own music. Tom started his own band, Until Today, and loved performing the songs he made. He would want his

music to live on. He referred to himself, and would prefer to be remembered as Astronaut Tom, inspired by the song ‘The Astronaut’ by Something Corporate.

Tom dedicated his life to helping others. The resident handyman, he would take on the task of fixing anything. He offered a solution to any problem presented to him. It didn’t matter if you were a stranger or a close acquaintance, he would have given anyone his last taco. Tom served

his fellow humans through many occupations. His most passionate phrase was ‘Pay it Forward.’

Tom is survived by his parents, Malina Gulbransen and Blake and Linda Ferrin; his two children Brinlee and Parker; nine siblings: Mallory and Tim Robbins, Aryel and Ryan Daniels, Dillan Ferrin, Chris and Deanna Ferrin, Micah and Desiray Ferrin, Montana Ferrin, Isabelle Gulbransen,

Alana Gulbransen, LeAnna Gulbransen; nieces Bradlyn, Carmindy, Charlie, Colette, Chloe: nephews Kaelen, Raiden, Timothy, Douglas; three grandparents, five step-siblings and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Tom is preceded in death by his grandmother Coy (Chersin), uncle Bo, cousin

Luke, and nephew James.

A GoFundMe has been set up to help cover memorial costs, as well as to set up a Trust Fund

for his children.

His music will be available for purchase; all proceeds will go towards his children's Trust Fund.
