Thomas Ronald Hendry

Thomas Ronald Hendry, 80, passed away Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at his home.

He was born July 18, 1933 in Ogden, Utah to Arvin Thomas and Velma Morgan Hendry. He graduated from South Cache High School.

He served in the US Navy during the Korean War. He retired from the Naval Reserve (Seabees) in 1991.

On February 13, 1957, Tom married Sonia Petersen in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Tom was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

He was known for his keen sense of humor and quick wit. He raised and raced American Quarter horses. He was a member of AQHA and NERA.

Tom is survived by his wife, Sonia Hendry; three children, Thomas H. (Cheri) Hendry, Brigham City; Cindee (Steve) Spiers, Plain City; Natalie (Mark) Ryan, Uintah; four grandchildren, four step-grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Marty (Susan) Hendry, Kenny Hendry, two sisters, Karla Hendry and CloAnn Hendry.

He was preceded in death by his parents, step-mother, Alice Hendry, son, Troy L. Hendry, sisters, Arvonna Sewell, Virgina Cant, brother, Lloyd Hendry, grandson, Andrew (AJ) Sheetz, and his best friend, his dog, Mack.

Funeral services will be held Friday, August 9th at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South.

The family will meet with friends Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Wellsville Cemetery.
