Thomas Hodges

OGDEN CITY - Thomas Charles Hodges passed away December 13, 2013 at home at the age of 65.

Tom was born June 18, 1948 in Ogden, Utah. He graduated from Bonneville High School in 1966 and received a Music Scholarship to Weber State University. He was also a proud member of Sigma Delta Pi. Tom was a talented musician and was a member of the Ogden Symphonic Choir, Ogden Coronet Choir, Weber State Dance Band, Marching Band and Pep Band.

He joined the Army National Guard in 1968 and continued to serve as a Reservist from 1969 to 1974. He went on to a career as a Sales Representative for Lorillard Tobacco and after 34 years was able to attain his dream of retiring and living next to his beloved Bear Lake.

All who knew Tom knew of his love for the outdoors. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and was happiest when he smelled of camp-fire and had dirt under his nails.

Tom was a devoted son, loving father and husband, and the most loyal of friends. He was generous, empathetic and kind with a down-to-earth, fun-loving personality that people were drawn to. His smile and laugh will live on in the hearts of those left behind.

He is survived by his wife of nine years, Diane Allen of Ogden, UT; son, Troy Thomas (Jami) Hodges of Riverton, UT; daughter, Tara Lee (Russell) Williams of LaFollette, TN; and six beloved grandchildren, Hallee, Brooklynn, Hope, Caymbree, Isabelle and Jacob. Also surviving are two sisters, Elaine (Verlin) Lyon and Yvonne (Vern) Steele; and one brother, Kevin (Mary) Hodges.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Thomas and Ruth R. Pope Hodges and a brother, Darwin A. Hodges.
