Our strong, loving husband, father, brother, uncle and friend went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 29, 2009 after a courageous fight against pancreatic cancer.

Thomas Benton Lovewell was born in Appleton City, MO on March 11, 1944 to Oliver and Clara May Lovewell. He grew up a farmer in rural Missouri and became a machinist. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting. On one hunting trip out to Utah he met and fell in love with Jackie Howard. On May 25, 1979 they were married in Ogden, Utah. They enjoyed 29 wonderful and love filled years together. They were blessed with two children, Christopher and Amy.

Tom worked over 20 years at Hill Air Force Base where he retired in 2006. He spent as much time as he could with family and friends. He always told stories and jokes and could bring a smile to anyone. He enjoyed taking trips with his family across the country to visit family, old friends and new sights.

He attended Kaysville Bible Church where he made many friends and took part in the AWANA program where he helped to teach many children about Jesus Christ.

Tom is survived by his wife, Jackie; son, Christopher; daughter, Amy; three brothers, Art (Barbara) of LaTour, MO; Dave of Mt. Zion, MO; Ed (Debbie) of Independence, MO; one sister, Mollie Famuliner of Garden City, MO; as well as many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Catherine.

The family wishes to thank all the family and friends who prayed and cared for Tom.

Funeral services will be held Monday, May 4th at 2 p.m. at the Kaysville Bible Church, 181 North Flint St.

A viewing will be held prior to the services from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. at the church.

Interment, Roy City Cemetery.

A time of fellowship will follow. Tom had a heart for missions. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Kaysville Bible Church Mission Program.
