Thomas Lynn Ramage
On September 23, 2015 our best friend, husband, father and grandfather, Thomas Lynn Ramage, left this earthly plane after a brief sickness. Tom was born on May 2, 1952 to Thomas and Cleo Ramage. He was raised in Kaysville, and graduated from Davis High School in 1970.
Tom married the love of his life, Renee Ellen Minor, on January 22, 1977 at his parents’ home to be close to his mother who was ill. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple.
An eternal family was always a priority for Tom, and he and Renee were grateful to have three beautiful children, and six grandchildren. Tom was extremely involved in the lives of his kids and grandkids. He was lucky enough his last weekend before getting ill to attend soccer games for a grandson and watch Matthew race his motorcycle. It was a great few days we will remember forever.
Tom was a wonderful, loving and caring man, who was a friend to everyone. After suffering a work accident that should have killed him, Tom went on to graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree at Weber State University, with an emphasis on photography and psychology. We used to laugh at the combination, but that was our sweetheart. His health after his accident did not allow him to work outside the home, so he became the mom to everyone.
He endured several health issues in the last few years, but he faced them like everything else, head on, a smile on his face and usually a joke or two about it. Tom and Renee were fortunate to have many interests which gave them many friends. When they decided to do something, they both were together doing it, whatever it was, from Renee training the dogs, to Tom helping to pick out quilting material for the next project. Tom and Renee were never far apart, and were truly each other’s best friend.
Tom is survived by his wife Renee, children; Thomas Rulon (Jill), Dawn Marie (Sam Voss) and Matthew Phillip, and grandchildren; Logan, Lucas, Addison (Thomas and Jill) Britton, Airiana, and Jackilynn (Dawn Marie and Sam), brothers: William (Lou), Kenneth (Pam), sister: Rosalee Bunner and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by both of his parents, and Renee’s mother who he loved greatly.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses from Lakeview ICU 3rd floor where he battled for two weeks before we let him leave us. They gave their hearts to us as we tried to beat the odds, and were there with us when we let him go. He left us with many memories and lessons and we will forever miss him.
