Thomas Clair Parkinson

Thomas Clair Parkinson, 83 years old, returned home Thursday, October 23, 2014.
He was born September 4, 1931 in Ogden, Utah to Thomas Wells and Jessie Lake Parkinson. Clair grew up in Ogden, attended Ogden High School.
On August 25, 1951, Clair married Kathryn Smith in Ogden, Utah. Their marriage was sealed in the Ogden, Utah LDS Temple on August 1, 1978.
He served in the United States Air Force, stationed in England until November 1958.
Clair is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, attending the Roy 14th Ward for most of his life. Clair and Kathryn served a LDS mission in Little Rock Arkansas.
He worked for the Union Pacific Railroad and retired as a Conductor.
He enjoyed coin collecting, hunting, snowmobiling, camping and traveling. He was an avid reader of his Louis L’Amour book collection and always loved a good John Wayne movie.
Clair is survived by his daughter Toni Kaye Claxton (Roy Bosley), Ogden, UT; his son Steven Thomas (Valerie) Parkinson, St. George, UT; and son John Clair Parkinson, Layton, UT. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren with one more on the way. He is preceded in death by the love of his life, Kathryn, his parents, two sisters and a brother.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, October 30, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd. Family viewing from 10 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the funeral. Public viewing will be held Wednesday October 29, 2014 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
