Thomas W. Philpott

Thomas W. Philpott passed away Friday, March 1, 2013 after a 7 month battle with cancer.

Tom was born in Tulsa, OK and grew up in Tulsa, Springfield, MO and Memphis, TN. He graduated from the University of Tulsa with a BS in 1972 and MA in 1977. Tom retired July 1, 2012 after working for 36 years in the Government Services Divisions of RCA in Tulsa and Washington D.C., G.E. in Cherry Hill, NJ; and Management and Training Corp in Centerville, UT.

He is survived by his wife Peggy Philpott and son William Walker of Layton, UT; sisters-in-law Janis Hammack (Arlington, TX), Jean Waymire (Clayton, OK), nephews Kevin Hammack, Michael and Kelly Waymire and niece Kristina McIntosh.

Preceded in death by his parents N.F. and Joan Philpott and sister Susan Philpott.

Tom would want his friends to celebrate his life rather than mourn his passing. In accordance with his wishes, his body was cremated and a private family memorial will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Road.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to Dr. Vincent Hansen, Dr. Victor Varela, IHC Hospice, and the care staff at McKay-Dee Hospital for their compassion and care of Tom in his final days.
