Thomas Rogers

Thomas Alfred Rogers, surrounded by his loving family, went home Monday October 21, 2019 to be with his Savior whom he knew, loved and served.

Thomas was born October 28, 1940 to Alfred and Lucile Rogers in Paris, Idaho. Tom grew up in Paris where he enjoyed working with his dad and their horses. He enjoyed playing football and basketball for Fielding High School.

It was here that he met the love of his life Linda Shirley. The high school sweethearts were married January 10, 1963 in the Logan Temple.

Tom is a true disciple of Jesus Christ and loved serving the Lord in any capacity he could. He served a full-time mission in the West Central States Mission from 1960-1962. He served as a Bishop, in Bishoprics, High-Council, Home Teacher and Temple Worker. He has a deep love for the gospel of Jesus Christ and touched many lives through his example, genuine love and service for others.

Tom’s family is his most prized possession. He made the time to spend it with them as often as he could. He is a great husband, dad, grandfather, great-grandfather, neighbor and friend.

He will be missed by his loving wife of 56 years, Linda, his children Cindy (Matt) Singer, Jeff (Tonya), Ryan (Julie), Marcy (Jason) Call, Deidre (Adam) Reynolds, Tina (Derek) Harames, his brother Bill, father-in-law Evan Shirley and many other family and friends who know him and love him.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Clearfield Rocky Mountain Care Center and Inspiration Hospice and the wonderful nurses and nursing staff who took such great care of Tom and his family during a very difficult time. These caregivers went above and beyond in those days with their professionalism and compassion. We will be forever grateful to each and everyone of them.

A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 am on Friday October 25, 2019 at the Taylor 3rd Ward, 2300 South 4300 West. The family will meet with friends Thursday from 6-8 pm and Friday from 9:30-10:30 am at the church.

Interment, Paris Cemetery, Paris Idaho.
