Thomas Smith “Smitty” CENTERVILLE – Thomas Floyd Smith, 77, passed away Monday, October 15, 2007. He was born September 15, 1930 in Salt Lake City, Utah the son of Aaron Floyd and Merle Eldredge Smith. He was married to Barbara Robertson Winegar. Smitty graduated from Cyprus High School and was an Eagle Scout. He served in the US Air Force during the Korean and Vietnam wars. He retired with the rank of Chief Master Sergeant and was awarded the Bronze Star. He volunteered for many years at the Veteran Hospital in Salt Lake City. He was a member of the Bountiful Elks Lodge, BPOE 2442 where he held many positions. He and his wife Barb loved to travel. He is survived by his wife, Barbara; children Roger T. Smith (Betty), Sandra Skaja (Tim), Pamela Smith, Tina Peplowski (Tony); step-children Scott Winegar (Loree), Steven Winegar (Evana), Debbie Winkelaar (Pete); and fourteen grandchildren. Also survived by two sisters JoAnne Loosli (Richard) and Irene Bonbrake. Preceded in death be his parents and one brother. Memorial services will be held 11 am, Friday, October 19, 2007 at Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E. Cremation under the direction of Lindquist Crematory. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Camp Wapiti (summer camp for disabled children), c/o Bountiful Elks Lodge, 544 W. 400 N. Bountiful, Utah 84010.
