OGDEN- Timothy Paul Geilman, 56, passed away at home on Thursday, May 17, 2012. He was the son of Glenn and Vera Geilmann, born on May 10, 1956. He married his loving wife Lynette Muller on May 13, 1978 at Camp Pendleton, CA, and they recently celebrated their 34th wedding anniversary.

Tim grew up in Ogden, attending Weber County schools and traveled with the military, serving in Okinawa and Iwakuni, Japan; Camp Pendleton, CA; Ogden/West Valley UT; and Camp Le Jeune, NC.

He enlisted in the Marine Corps at the age of 17 and served honorably for 22 years retiring on April 30, 1996. He loved working as an Engineer Equipment Mechanic, Engineer Equipment Chief and USMC Recruiter. He achieved the rank of Master Sergeant "Gunny Geilman". He received the Navy Marine Corps Achievement Medal (2nd Award), Navy Unit Comendation, Meritorious Unit Commendation Medal (3rd Award), Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal (7th Award), National Defense Service Medal (2nd Award), Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, Marine Corps Recruiting Ribbon, Certificate of Commendation, Meritorious Mast, Letter of Appreciation (5), Rifle Sharp Shooter Badge, and Pistol Sharp Shooter Badge. He took great pride in his time in the military and considered it an honor to be a Marine.

After retirement, he returned to Ogden and was most recently employed as a Master Handyman for Your Community Connection where he took pride in his work and enjoyed working with the elderly in the Senior Life Care Program. He also worked for the Golden Spike Event Center, C.B. Richard Ellis and Westland Enterprises. He ran his own handyman business, "Fix-It-Now", and wrote his own theme song!

He was a member of the Wasatch Church of Christ in Clearfield where he was active in service projects and served in many roles for the congregation.

Tim loved fishing, whether taking his dad or helping others learn to fish. He especially enjoyed teaching little ones, and encouraging their love of fishing. He was an avid hunter; enjoying deer and bird hunting. He always had humorous stories to tell about the hunt.

He loved serving others. His neighbors always knew they could borrow tools or get assistance on projects.

He took pride in maintaining his home and yard and even received recognition from the home owners association for best decorated yard.

Tim is survived by his wife, Lynette, and beautiful daughter Amanda whom he loved and adored. He is also survived by his father Glenn (Evelyn) Geilmann, Ogden; sister Bonnie (Ralph) Luby, Ogden; and brother Gregory Geilmann, Salt Lake City. He was preceded in death by his mother. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at the Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Family will meet with friends that morning from 9:45 to 10:45 at the mortuary.
