Todd D. Guthrie passed away unexpectedly on September 15, 2023 at the age of 60.
Todd was born in Santa Clara, California on March 31, 1963, to father Darrel Guthrie and mother Patricia Guthrie. The youngest of three sons, he grew up in Simi Valley, California, attended Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho and served a mission for his church, in the Dallas, Texas area.
Those fortunate enough to have known Todd (also known as “Cowboy”), would know that he would strike up conversation with everyone and anyone and always end it with a laugh. He loved cars, watching NASCAR races and taking care of the Mathews Legacy Farm. Todd would even begrudgingly travel with his wife for her sake and loved it when he did.
Anyone who knew Todd truly felt they had a special relationship with him. Aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins, friends, and the many coworkers of Todd would tell you they never knew anyone like him with his big hugs and larger than life trademark laugh. He was just happy, so much of the time. It was his gift.
Todd is survived by his wife Shelley Guthrie; his four sons Andrew, Bryce (Lindsey), Jacob and Taylor (Ashlyn); his mother Patricia; his brothers Kirk (Toby) and Bret (Debbie) and three grandchildren; Evee, William and Evan. His loss will be felt by many more extended family members and friends galore! Oh, and the many animals he cared for and loved at the farm he managed. Yep, he was one special dude.
He is preceded in death by his father, Darrel.
