Todd Edward Jensen was born on August 19, 1963, in Chico, California, the third son of LaVora Alberta Jensen and Norman Joseph Jensen. He grew up in Chico and attended school there before moving to Ogden, Utah, where he completed high school.
Todd served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Hokkaido, Japan, where he learned to speak Japanese—a skill that would remain with him throughout his life. He later became a licensed mortician in California, where he met and married his wife, Chifumi. During this time, he also worked for United Airlines, often assisting with the repatriation of Americans who had passed away in Japan.
After Todd and Chifumi divorced, he returned to Utah to continue his work in funeral services. Known for his deep compassion and professionalism, Todd was often called upon not only to direct funeral services but also to provide musical tributes. He had a strong, beautiful voice and a deep love of music, and he played both the tuba and sousaphone. His singing brought comfort to many and was a memorable part of the services he led.
When his mother became ill, Todd returned to California to care for her, selflessly dedicating himself to her well-being until her passing in 2017. Following her death, he returned to Utah and resumed his work as a mortician with Lindquist Mortuary, where he remained employed until his own passing.
Todd is survived by his father, Norman Jensen; brothers, Brent Jensen, who is currently serving a senior mission in Italy, Steven Jensen, Rich Ethington, and Reg Ethington; and sisters, Tamie Fife, Michele Dewsnup, and Jayne Barrow. He was preceded in death by his mother, LaVora; stepmother, Verda Jensen; sister, Sam Killian; and brother, Mark, who passed away from cancer.
Todd will be remembered for his gentle spirit, his musical talents, and the compassionate care he showed to the families he served.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, April 25, 2025, at 10 a.m. at the Honeyville Cemetery, Honeyville, Utah.
