LAYTON a€" Tommy Lee McCallum, 86, passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at his home.

He was born April 14, 1923 in Springhill, Texas the son of Turner Stanley and Maggie Mae Jones McCallum.

Dad was a Navy man, who served in World War II, he came to the Clearfield Navy Base where he met Maxine Green while being a projectionist at the base theater. Dad was an auxiliary policeman in Clearfield City. Dad was an avid ham radio operator and was proud of his CB handle Highball.

After us seven kids arrived we found great joy in riding around in the station wagon looking at our dream houses. Many fishing and camping trips brought us great memories. Dad''s yard was always beautiful and his love of golf was great. Dad could make everything from anything. We will miss you forever.

Surviving are his wife, Maxine Green McCallum, sons, Wayne H. McCallum, Charles Allen McCallum, James David McCallum, daughters, Judy Lee Blackner, Christine Chambers, Bobbie Rae Green, Joanne Whitesides, brother, Jack McCallum, San Antonio, TX; sister, Martha Littlefield, Fargo, No. Dakota; 28 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Wayne Harmer, Turner Stanley Jr. and Bill McCallum.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, June 27, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends and family may call one hour prior to services at the mortuary.
