OGDEN – Tony Waddell died Friday, August 3, 2007. Bev Gaye Huffman Waddell died Saturday, August 11, 2007 in Ogden.
Tony was born November 12, 1953 in Santa Ana, California, a son of Leon Bennett and Jan Mathias Waddell. Bev was born October 11, 1943 in Vallejo, California, a daughter of Claude Vincent and Alma Hazel Haskell Huffman.
Tony and Bev were married November 7, 1988 in Ogden and they were both members of
Washington Heights Baptist Church.
Tony was a science and math teacher and taught both high school and junior high school students. He also coached football. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Elks and served as Exalted Ruler of the Lodge. Tony loved the outdoors, camping, yard work, woodworking and traveling. He loved the San Francisco 49ers and they loved to go to San Francisco and Montana. Bev loved every holiday. She enjoyed writing poems and had several published. Her talent for creating pine cone crafts was unique. She also liked to can and preserve fruits and vegetables, a compliment to her gardening and “green thumb”. Bev and Tony had two special pets, “Amber and Princess”. Tony was a “lifelong teacher” and never stopped helping their grandchildren with their homework and science projects. Bev always showed her love to them through her passion in celebrating and decorating for every holiday.
Tony is survived by his children, Scott, Jeff and Stephanie; his father, Leon and Joan Waddell, his mother, Jan Waddell, one brother, James Waddell and one sister, Cathryn Shipley. Bev is survived by her children, Donald (Donna) Jones, Debbie (Dale) Crabtree, Lori (Curtis) Coles, Misti (Louie) DiMillio, grandchildren and great-grandchildren; five brothers and one sister, Wes, Dale, Mike, Pat, Denny and Sherri. She was especially close to her brother, Wes, who was a great support to both Bev and Tony during their lives.
Bev was preceded in death by her parents, one son Jerry Wayne, one brother and one sister, Ron Huffman and Shirley Emerson.
Joint funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
Friends may call at the mortuary on Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m.
Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
