Hooper - Our husband, father, son and brother 1SG Tracy L. Stapley, (Dude) 44 years old passed away on July 3rd, 2013, at Camp As Sayliyah, Qatar while deployed on his second tour of duty.

Tracy was born in Ogden and lived in Utah most of his life. He graduated from Clearfield High School where he excelled in basketball. He proudly served in the Army Reserves for 26 years. Tracy also served an LDS mission in Argentina and was fluent in Spanish.

He is survived by his wife, Antionette, his son, Trase (USMA at West Point, New York) and his daughter Kennedy (Peanut). Also survived by his father, John Elwin Stapley, and siblings: Lafe (Terry) Stapley, Smithfield, Laurie ( Mike ) Alvey, West Haven, Neil ( Lisa ) Stapley, Clearfield, Mike (Lisa) Stapley, Clearfield , Wendy Wray, Woods Cross, Vickie (Roger ) Graham, Layton and Jennifer Stapley, Centerville, in-laws Chris and Arcy Martinez, Tino (Lisa) Martinez and Jimmy Martinez. Along with many nieces, nephews, and many close family and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother JoAnn Stapley and his grandparents.

Our parents met at Lagoon while in junior high. They started dating after our dad returned from his mission. They were married on October 3rd, 1992 and will always be the love of each other''s life.

Tracy has two beautiful, smart, and talented children whom he loved to support in their school, dance, and sport activities. He was often referred to as the "Dance Dad. " He was the most supportive and proud father in the world. Those who knew him know he loved joking with people and helping with absolutely everything, even if it wasn''t his place to help, or you saw him as a serious person who was always on the sidelines at my games and at Kennedy''s dance performances. Not many of you knew his softer side, he loved life and everything in it from a beautiful sunrise to an eagle soaring over a field.

He worked full-time for the Army Reserve as a civilian and was loved by co-workers. Most importantly, he was a devoted family man and great friend. Tracy was a man worth praising and a friend worth having; he was a fun-loving jokester; who could ever forget his "hello" message on his voice mail.

He loved the family and loved being around us making sure we had everything we ever needed and more. He was the best. We love you Dude, Rest in Peace. Come see us sometimes.

The family would like to thank all of our wonderful, caring family, friends and kind unknowns. This has been a devastating time. The support has been amazing.

Tracy''s Life Celebration will be held Monday, July 15, 2013 at 10 a.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends may visit with family Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Lindquist''s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Rd, So. Ogden, Utah.
