Travis J Ostberg, 48, of Roy, passed away peacefully at his home following a brave battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his loving wife and family.
Born November 14, 1975, in Murray, Utah, to Larry J and Judy Ann Garbett Ostberg, Travis was raised and schooled in Granger, now West Valley, Utah.
In his earlier years Travis was a plumber and worked for the State of Utah as a fleet vehicle specialist.
On March 11, 2010, he married Patricia Ann Prothero in Las Vegas, Nevada and the couple settled in Roy.
A hard worker, Travis was Station Manager of the Shell Station nearby their home.
Travis and Pat enjoyed spending time together, including camping, fly-fishing, and hunting. Travis enjoyed sharing his time and talents with his family and friends. He had a deep appreciation for arrowhead hunting and gold panning.
Travis will be remembered most for his caring and generous nature. He loved helping others and was always willing to lend a hand. A man of many talents, Travis was highly skilled with his hands. He enjoyed building birdhouses and cabins with matchsticks. His craftsmanship and creativity were evident in all he did. Additionally, his passion for family and those he was closest to was never in question.
Travis is survived by his beloved wife, Pat A. Ostberg, his partner and friend of many years, Roy; his father, Larry J. Ostberg, Roy; brother, David Ostberg, Eagle Mountain; sister, Tammy (Brian Goodpasture) Holmes, North Las Vegas, NV; his bonus kids, Christopher P. (Linda) Eagy, Roy; Heather B. Eagy, Roy, Justin E. (Elane) Eagy, Logan; his nieces and nephews, David Shawn and Melissa Ostberg, Tiffany and Jessica Holmes; bonus grandkids, Nakeisha, Trista, Zacharias, Ian, Jade, and Samantha, and several step-grandkids. He was preceded in death by his mother and by his grandparents.
A memorial service for family and friends will be announced at a later date.
The family wishes to thank the kind and caring staff of Symbii Hospice.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to help offset the memorial costs.
Cremation entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.
