Travis Dee Scothern passed away on Monday, January 14th, 2019. He was born December 18, 1970 in Ogden, Utah to Colleen Phillips and was later adopted by Roger Scothern.
He grew up in Kaysville, Utah. He married Laurel Lindsey in 1991. They had two beautiful children and were later divorced. He married Adele Brown in 1999. She loves his children as her own; they were later divorced.
Travis graduated from Weber State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Administrative Services with a Long-Term Care Administration emphasis. He had a natural ability to care for others and excelled greatly in his work.
He was a loving father, grandfather, son, brother, cousin, and friend. He loved his football “Go Utes!” He loved music and attended as many concerts as he could, especially the Grateful Dead and Widespread Panic. He loved camping, fishing, and being with family around the campfire. He told everyone he loved them and meant it. He will be our “Forever Hippie.”
Travis is survived by his son Braden (Lorna), West Valley City; daughter Mallory (Luke) Streeter, Provo; grandson Davey and a granddaughter on the way. He is also survived by his brother Chad (Kristie), SLC, and sister Amber (Scott) Ohrn, Layton.
He is preceded in death by his parents Roger Scothern and Colleen Phillips Scothern, brother Trace, and sister Josie.
A celebration of life will be held Thursday, January 31, 2019 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends may visit family Thursday from 1 to 2 p.m. at the mortuary.
