KAYSVILLE a€" Trina Marie Nelson, 54, passed away Sunday, January 27, 2013.

She was born September 27, 1958 in Tucson, Arizona the daughter of Alan and Mary Nelson.

Trina graduated from Layton High School in 1976. While at Layton High School she was on the drill team and won many awards.

She later married Wayne D. Strand April 23, 1984. Later divorced.

Trina worked at Hill Air Force Base for 30 years and while working there she was Queen of HAFB through 1977 - 1978. She retired in 2006.

She grew up in Layton, Utah and later moved to St. George to take care of her mother and be close to her father. Trina loved everything about the outdoors. She loved to fish, hunt and most of all go camping.

Surviving are her son Tyler Strand, Kaysville; beloved dog Daisy, father Alan Nelson, St. George; mother Mary Nelson, Jupiter, FL; two sisters, Judy (Tim) Legel, Port St. Lucie, FL; and Jodi (Glen) Hill, Jupiter, FL.

Graveside services will be held Monday, February 4, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Kaysville City Cemetery, 500 E. Crestwood Road. Friends may visit family Monday from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. at Lindquist''s Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main.

"I cannot forget my mother. Though not as sturdy as others, she was my bridge. When I needed to get across, she steadied herself long enough for me to run across safely."

I love you Mom, may you rest in peace.
