Troy Dean Robins
Troy Dean Robins was born on March 12, 1966, in Garden Grove, CA, the first son of Gailon G Robins and JoAnn Irene McNulty Robins. Troy lived in CA until he was 16 years old, when he moved to No. Salt Lake, UT, to live with his dad. At 17 he moved back to Anaheim, CA. He then lived in Hawaii for about a year. In 1992 he moved back to UT, where he stayed until 2011 when he moved to Anchorage, AK.
Troy was a painter by trade and one of his first jobs was painting the Disneyland Hotel. He spent many years painting luxurious, custom homes and was recognized for his outstanding workmanship, attention to detail, and a dedication to get the job done right. He then went to work for Pella Window and Door. He continued painting after moving to AK, and at the time of his death he was on a year-long project painting a military hanger, as the foreman over a crew.
On July 10, 2004, he married Vicky Warrington Penman and helped raise her two sons, Richard and Michael, and daughter Nichole. They later divorced but remained friends for the remainder of Troy’s life.
Troy had many close friends that were an important part of his life. His passions were hunting and fishing and enjoying the great outdoors. A highlight of his life was fishing with his nephews and other family members. With the move to AK, he was able to realize a long-time dream of hunting and fishing there.
Troy is survived by brothers, Mark Robins, Michael Robins, Jimmy Hawkins, Jason Hawkins, sister Robin Dixon, three nieces, seven nephews, Uncle Jim McNulty (Carol), Aunt Alice McNulty, and Aunt Barbara Anderson.
