Tyler Reed Smith

“F2TF - Fight 2 The Finish” Tyler Reed Smith October 15, 1996 ~ May 20, 2012 Tyler Reed Smith returned to the loving arms of his Heavenly Father on Sunday, May 20, 2012 after fighting a valiant one-year battle with liver cancer. He was born October 15, 1996 to Darren Lynn and Ann Bennion Smith. He had a smile that lit up a room and that smile continued until his last day on earth. Tyler had countless friends who he loved so much. They, in turn, loved and supported him through his entire journey with cancer. No one could ask for better friends than Tyler had. His battle was shared by the whole community and our family felt loved and supported all along the way. Thank you will never be enough to show our gratitude for the care we have all received. Tyler loved sports – especially golf, and played 18 holes three days before his passing. Thank you to so many who gave him amazing golfing opportunities he would not have enjoyed otherwise. Tyler loved his family, and we loved him so much. He always had us laughing at the dinner table, and everywhere we were together! We will miss his smart-alec wit and ability to make everyone smile. We are confident he is still making people smile on the other side. Surviving are his parents, sister Erika, brother-in-law Brian Kusuda, brothers Taylor and Tanner, and nephew Caleb, grandparents Lanny and Barbara Smith and Rex and Carolyn Bennion, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 25, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the Layton North Stake Center, 1954 E. Antelope Drive. Friends may visit family on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Anything for a Friend Organization at www.anythingforafriend.com, an organization that helped Tyler and our family know that this wasn’t just our battle, but the communities’ battle as well. Thank you Tyler, for showing us all how to ‘F2TF’. We will love you and miss you forever!
