It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our husband, father, son, brother, and friend Tyler James Worthen, 39, a lifelong resident of the Ogden area, passed away on Saturday, April 12, 2025, after a swift battle with mental illness.
He was born on September 20, 1985, in Ogden, Utah, the son of Wesley Owen and Karen Rhonda Willie Worthen. Tyler graduated from Bonneville High School Class of 2004. After graduating he served in the Hartford Connecticut Spanish Speaking Mission from 2004 to 2006. He furthered his education with a Bachelor’s degree in business administration from Weber State.
Tyler married the love of his life, Taralyn Wright, on May 18, 2007, in the Bountiful Temple.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in several callings.
Tyler was working at Hill Air Force Base as an Electrical Mechanic at the time of his death. He had also been a CTE Teacher and a Job Coach at Deseret Industries that allowed his talents and commitment in helping others to shine.
He was a man of many interests. He loved to build and take on house projects, often drawing up house plans. His love for family was evident in his enjoyment of golfing with his sons and supporting their sporting activities. He treasured the simple pleasures of driving on dirt roads, kayaking, and listening to the music of George Strait.
Tyler is survived by his wife, Taralyn; five sons, Caden T., Cole S., Jarrett O., Jackson L., and Kamden J.; his parents, Wesley (Katie) Worthen and Karen Willie Worthen; sisters, Shonnie (Kevin) Sessions, along with their children Jake, Mialee, Kendyl; and Bailee (Justin) Cevering; his in-laws, Scott and MariAnn Wright; and by his siblings-in-law, Whitney (Wade) Gines and their children Emery, Penny, and Russell; Jessica (Jesse) Bickle; and Zach (Linley) Wright and their son Kayson.
