Urla Brown Smith

October 11, 1944 — June 9, 2024

Roy

For 79 years, Urla Brown Smith enhanced the lives of those who were blessed to know her. She proclaimed her love and bid farewell, then chose to end this chapter of life with her son by her side, she continued her journey and was welcomed by Heaven on June 9, 2024.

Urla Brown Smith was born to J. Earl and Retta Brown in 1944, and raised in Provo, Utah. She graduated from Provo High School. She had Troy and Tamera with her first husband, Dan Lindley. She kept the Smith name of her second husband after their divorce. She loved and cherished her current partner Mac Woodworth who has been a supportive rock for her over the years.

Urla worked as a civilian for H.A.F.B. and subsequently retired. She was supportive of her children’s activities from ballgames, rodeos, dance, skiing, social gatherings and school dances. Throughout the years, she enjoyed barbecues, boating, camping, creating spook alleys, horse races, playing games, and all holidays. She enjoyed her charitable activities as a member of the Alpha Tau Chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha sorority for 47 years. Sorority provided her with fun and fabulous experiences with amazing friends. She was truly grateful for the generosity of the ladies for their assistance and transportation for her to continue participating in the activities as she needed due to the loss of her vision. She enjoyed bowling in leagues over the years with some fun people, and the last few years she enjoyed being teammates with her love, Mac. Urla also enjoyed the membership and yearly hostessing of the dice game Bunco group with the fun ladies for the past several years. She loved spending time with the family for holidays, East Canyon, celebrations, night of dinner and games, dates and shopping with Mac.

Still fulfilling our earthly journey before joining her in the next chapter are her son, Troy Lindley; daughter, Tamera Widmeyer and Greg Fields; her beloved partner, Mac Woodworth; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her sister, Jeanene Morgan; nieces, nephews, some cousins, and friends. She said she would be watching over us.

A special Note: from her great-granddaughter, Kenya

You are the best Nana ever and you rock Nana. It’s going to be a while ‘till I see her in Heaven, but she will always be in our hearts and always by my side. It’s hard to lose someone that you love, and it bothered me about my Uncle Alan. Nana was the best grandmother and I loved her so much. She was my great-grandmother and she fixed me breakfast and cereal sometimes and took naps with me. I bet she is having fun and happy to see her friend, Kay. I liked playing Bunco and cards and watching TV and cuddling and hugs with her. I liked when we were to East Canyon, and we had a great time and I lost my tooth there. I hope she is playing with our dogs, Lilly and Sophie. She gave me presents on Christmas and on Halloween she gave me M&Ms to me and my brother, Sev. I hope she is with God and Jesus. Sandy is a member of Bunco and I bet she misses her. Coco and Teddy miss her and are very sad. Nana probably misses going to game night, restaurants and Bunco. I wrote a card to go with her.
