Utaka “Ute” Akisada

April 18, 1925 ~ March 10, 2014

Our loving husband and father, Utaka “Ute” Akisada, 88, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 10, 2014.  He was born on April 18, 1925 to Matsukichi and Tami Ogata Akisada in Ogden, Utah.

Ute served in the US Army 442nd Regimental Combat Team during World War II in Italy and France and received the Purple Heart.

He married Elsie Yoshida on June 2, 1949 in Manchester, New Hampshire.  Ute and Elsie lived in Roy and are currently residing in Ogden.

Ute worked for Hill Air Force Base as a Supply Cataloger and System Analyst, retiring in 1976.  After retirement Ute and Elsie traveled the United States and the world enjoying life together.

Ute was a member of the Ogden Japanese Christian Church.

He enjoyed golfing, bowling, skiing, and hunting.

Ute is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Elsie Y Akisada of Ogden; and daughter, Debbie (Dennis) Kawaguchi.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Takashi “Tuk” and infant sister, June.

Cremation entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.
