Vada Neilson Rudd
NORTH OGDEN – Vada Neilson Rudd, 81, passed away at her home on Saturday, July 18, 2009.
She was born February 23, 1928, in Heman, Idaho, to Gustave Otto and Ora Belle Fisher Neilson, the only daughter of five children.
Vada graduated from Sugar-Salem High School in Sugar City, Idaho, then attended Utah State University. During this time, she met her sweetheart, Farrest S Rudd. They were married on April 9, 1948 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple and have been together for 61 years. They lived the majority of those years in North Ogden, but she was an Idaho farm girl at heart. They had six children.
She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in several auxiliary presidencies, and as a temple worker in the Ogden Temple, and various other callings.
Vada spent a lifetime of dedicated service to her church, her devoted husband and her family, making our house a loving home. She was blessed with many talents including quilting, sewing, embroidery, gardening and music.
She is survived by her husband, Farrest, of North Ogden; six children, Paula (Charles) Beus, Hooper; Jeanette Morris, West Jordan; Clive (Robyn) Rudd, South Weber; Terry (Deborah) Rudd, Layton; Bruce (Cindy) Rudd, Syracuse; Becky (Dale) Gerratt, Hazelton, ID; 36 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren who felt her love.
Also surviving are two brothers, Robert (Thelma) Neilson, Egin, ID; and Chad (Karen) Neilson, Archer, ID.
Preceding her in death were her parents and brothers Tad Otto Neilson (killed in WWII) and Virgil Albert Neilson.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 25 at 10 a.m. at the North Ogden Ben Lomond 12th Ward Chapel, 3610 North 650 East, North Ogden.
Friends may call at Lindquist’s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 North Washington Blvd., on Friday, July 24 from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday at the Ward Chapel 9 to 9:45 a.m.
Interment, Parker City Cemetery, Parker, Idaho.
