VAL GENE CRIDDLE
LAYTON - Val Criddle, 78, passed away 28 Jan 2009 from a massive stroke. He was born in Kaysville, Utah to Alex and Ethel M. Criddle in 1930. He was born and educated in Kaysville and lived in the Kaysville and Layton area throughout the majority of his life. He is a veteran of the Korean War. Val married Helen Neville, June18, 1954.
Val was a master mechanic and could repair anything with an engine or motor. He found joy helping others by repairing cars, lawnmowers, and snowblowers. He enjoyed recording and producing videos of family activities, gardening functions, and travel adventures. He retired from Utah State Parks and Recreation as Mechanic Shop Foreman. He was a member of the Davis County Master Gardner Association, and enjoyed his membership in the Sill’s Café “Circle of Knowledge”.
Val is survived by wife Helen, daughters Valerie (Dave) Stratford, Susan (Steve) Hayes, Grand-daughter Jeana (James) Perry, Great-Grand children Trinity and Lucian Perry, brother Nevin and sisters Maureen (Bill) DeSpain and Estella May Reyes, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Lavar and Duane.
Funeral services will be held Monday, February 2, 2009 at 11 a.m. at the Park West Ward, 1715 W. 1600 N., Layton, Utah. Friends and family may call Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Rd. and Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment, Lindquist Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
