Val Christopher Stegen, 58, passed away on Monday, February 12, 2024. He was born on February 9, 1966, in Ogden, Utah, the son of Carl Louis and Elisabeth Woltjer Stegen. He spent a few years in Salt Lake City before making his home in Roy the last 52 years.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was ordained as an Elder.
Chris worked for 15 years at IRS. He was an amazing caregiver to his mom, and they spent long hours together singing music they enjoyed.
Chris enjoyed writing poetry and even published some, drama and acting, concerts, classical music, and musicals. He loved Madonna. Chris volunteered at the Weber County Animal Shelter and the Food Pantry.
Chris is survived by his mother, Elisabeth Woltjer Stegen; siblings, Craig Phillip Stegen of Hooper; Debbie Ann Stegen-Peck of Salt Lake City; and Connie Elisabeth Stegen of Farr West. He was preceded in death by his father, Carl Louis Stegen.
The family would like to thank Bryan PoVey at Weber Human Services for all the joy and hope you brought into Chris’ life.

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, February 29, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. followed by a gathering from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the Roy 11th Ward, 2175 West 4250 South, Roy, Utah.
