OGDEN – VaLee Rasmussen Bailey, 54, died Sunday, August 3, 2008 at her home in Ogden.
She was born April 19, 1954 in Ogden, the second daughter of Philo and Phillis Rasmussen.
VaLee married Von “Duck” Bailey on November 20, 1976 in Huntsville. “Duck” preceded her in death on November 24, 2003.
She was raised and educated in Ogden graduating from Ben Lomond High School. She lived in Beatty, Nevada for one year following her marriage. She returned to Ogden where she lived the remainder of her life.
VaLee was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
She worked at Bank of Utah for two years after returning from Beatty, Nevada. She then began her career at Hill Air Force Base retiring after 25 years of service.
VaLee was a member of the V.F.W. and the American Legion.
She loved her children, babies, her dogs, cooking, shopping and family get-togethers.
Surviving are one son and one daughter, Chancey Bailey, and Emily (McClain) Lindquist, both of Ogden; her parents, Philo and Phillis Rasmussen, Farr West; one brother, Lanny (Claudine) Rasmussen, Fish Haven, ID; and two sisters, Linda (Edward) Boothe, Plain City; and Sharon (Richard) Bodrero, Nibley, UT.
Preceding VaLee in death was her husband, Von “Duck” Bailey.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., with McClain Lindquist officiating.
Friends may call at the mortuary on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.
Interment, Huntsville City Cemetery.
